New Jersey Naval Militia Joint Command
The NJ Naval Militia provides both waterborne and land support for the Organized Militia of NJ
The mission of the NJ Naval Militia- Joint command is to be a back-up for the New Jersey National Guard.
The secondary mission is to provide the governor with subject matter experts in the event of a crises.*
The first Battalion is made up of Drilling Navy Reservests.
The Second Battalion is made up of the Boat Squadron.
The Third battalion encompasses Intelligence,Medical, WMD, Army Detachment and training
I assume the Chaplancy was commanded from HHC

9/11/01 The Naval Militia was on the water ferrying people back and forth, the Disaster Medical Assistance team, provided. Pharmaceutical support. The chaplains provided support throughout Operation Noble Eagle.
The Officers and men (and women) who had trained quite a few of the National Guard troops serving at the time manned the Joint Operations Center (JOC) allowing young lieutenants to run around and do whatever it is that young lieutenants do.
Other members guarded Earl Naval Weapons station. If my memory is correct 98% of the cost was reimbursed by FEMA
There were many other missions that I can not think of as I sit her on vacation
