Department of Military and Veterans Affairs
The Commissioner of the Department of The Department of Military And Veterans Affairs, The Adjutant General Dr. Lisa Hou, is the commander of NJ’s Organized Militia (The Army/Air Guard and the Naval Militia Joint Command. She and the Deputy Commissioner of Veterans Affairs are responsible for the states veterans cemitary, nursing homes and homeless veterans programs. The department also employs many Veteran service officers to ensure that New Jersey Veterans receive the State and Federal Benefits they have earned.
